Not only did Dan help me get through a monumental writer’s block two years ago, he also gave me very sage and wise advice while I was negotiating with my publisher. I can honestly say that my book, Light a Fire in Their Hearts: The Truth About Leadership, would not be the book that it is today without Dan’s help and expertise. It has been endorsed by three NY Times bestselling authors, the author of one of the Top 100 business books of all time, a former LA radio host who has interviewed top leaders from around the globe, one of the fathers of contemporary employee assistance programs, as well as leaders and HR experts.

Lisa Anna Palmer, author of Light a Fire in Their Hearts: The Truth About Leadership

Dan provides all the tools, resources, and support you need every step of the way in writing, publishing, and marketing your book. He helps authors make their dream of becoming a published author come true!

Isabella Rose, author of Behind the Masked Smile: A Survivor’s Quest for Love

Hi, I’m Maria, and I’m a procrastinator. So, I was looking for a writing coach who was a.) not bossy and b.) would keep me in line—and I don’t know how you marry those two. By magic, apparently, because that’s what it feels like working with Dan. In the last year that I have written my book with his guidance, I have completed my manuscript, whereas in the previous year and a half, I had only gotten down a few thousand words. His presence, guidance, and loving attitude about wherever I was in my process have been absolutely invaluable. He reminds you every step of the way that he is there for you, that he can help guide you, and that your information and you are absolutely worthy and that the world needs to hear what you have to say. Just having that reminder from an outside source has been so helpful in getting my book finally written. I hope the same for you.

Maria T. Rothenburger, PhD, author of Transcending Infertility: 9 Keys for Improving Fertility, Creating Miracles, and Being a Better Human

Dan is one of the most compassionate, caring, and positive people I’ve ever known—guiding me through all aspects of writing, editing and publishing. He inspired me to focus on my inner journey and to “dig deeper” into my heart to bring out the best of myself through my soulful book.

Julie A. Vance, author of Dancing with the Divine

Hi, I’m Dan Teck. Those of you who have worked with me before know how passionate I am about helping authors share their soulful messages. However, if you’re just meeting me for the first time, here’s a bit about my background:

I’m a writer, editor, writing coach/teacher, co-creator of the 365 Book Series and Soulful Journals Series, and bestselling author of Rewrite Your Story. In addition to my own work, I’ve co-authored numerous books with my wife, Jodi, which have sold over 70,000 copies worldwide.

I have an MFA in creative writing and have mentored approximately 1,000 authors – editing, formatting, and even ghostwriting their books and also supporting authors to write and publish their own books through my Your Soulful Book writing program, workshops, and private coaching sessions. I love helping authors reach their dreams by writing and publishing their own soulful books, and I’m looking forward to supporting you on this journey!

How does this workshop differ from other writing workshops?

“Map Your Manuscript” stands out because it focuses not just on the art of writing, but on the practical aspects of turning an idea into a clear, structured roadmap for your book. It’s tailored specifically for those who are at the very beginning of their writing journey or who have started but are struggling to progress. The workshop provides an inclusive, step-by-step guide to outline and treatment creation, ensuring that you leave not just with inspiration, but with a tangible plan to move forward with your manuscript.

Can I sign up if I’m not sure about my book idea yet?

Yes. The workshop is designed to help crystallize your thoughts and give clarity to your book idea.

What if I've never written before?

No prior writing experience is necessary. This workshop will provide you with the foundational tools to start your writing journey.

What if I've already written a lot?

This workshop can benefit newer writers as well as those with a lot of prior experience. Even if you’ve already written a significant portion of your book or have already published before, you’ll gain new tools and perspectives that can elevate your writing to the next level.

What types of books/genres are suitable for this workshop?

Although this workshop can benefit authors of almost any genre, my focus is primarily on books meant to inspire, support, or have some positive effect on the reader—including:

  • Inspiring Memoirs
  • Self-Help/Personal Growth
  • Spirituality/Religion/New Age
  • Uplifting Fiction

The workshop can also apply to books that combine elements of multiple genres or other formats such as screenplays. However, it would most likely not be a good fit for authors of horror, romance/erotica, poetry, or academic writing (e.g., doctoral dissertations). I’m certainly open to a variety of styles and approaches, but I prefer to work with authors whose overall intention is to inspire, convey uplifting messages, and provide a positive reading experience—regardless of the specific genre they’re working in.

What is a book treatment?

A book treatment is a prose summary of your entire book. It’s an essential step in planning and organizing your ideas before you start writing the manuscript. It can be used in marketing materials, book proposals, or just for your personal use to help you gain clarity as you write your book.

Will I finish my manuscript during this workshop?

The main goal is to create a comprehensive treatment for your book, which is a vital step before writing the manuscript. The manuscript itself will not be completed in this workshop…but you’ll be well on your way to success!

I’m not tech-savvy; will I be able to watch the workshop?

Absolutely. If you can access a website, you can watch this workshop. I’ve made everything straightforward and user-friendly.

What is your refund policy?

While I’m unable to offer refunds for this workshop, know that I am committed to overdelivering value. My aim is for you to leave the workshop not just satisfied, but inspired and equipped for the writing journey ahead.
